INTRODUCTION

Craig Greenwood created Formula Challenge and has been involved in a motor racing in New Zealand for over 20 years. In that time he has transformed a hobby into a business based in Taupo. As an amateur competitor in Formula First he started designing and building his own race cars. It wasn't long before his design was winning at National level and soon other people were eager to purchase Challenge Formula Firsts.

In early 1999 Craig began designing and building Formula Challenge as a new type of racing car. Primarily this was to introduce a class of car to New Zealand which was both competitive and affordable, but most importantly gave the impression that you were driving an F1 car. He has now manufactured a total of 12 cars, including a custom built two seater version, to allow people to experience the thrill of being driven in a single seater racing car.

Formula Challenge is now operating from the international A1 circuit at Taupo, and is a motorsport approved school for both new and experienced drivers using single seaters race cars and now also V8 race cars. With the improved Taupo Motor Racing circuit and business park now operational, Formula Challenge is now on call and available whenever the circuit is not exclusively booked.

Drive a Formula Challenge Single Seater Race Car

Advanced Formula Challenge Single Seater Experience

These courses is tailored to suit the complete novice or experienced road car driver who wants to sample a taste of what it is like to drive a Formula Challenge single seater race car. Drivers get 1 session in a Formula Challenge single seater racing car. No experience is required.

There is no where else that you can experience the Formula Challenge Cars as this is the sole place to do so! So climb in this unique Formula Single Seater and hang on tight!

Package includes:
- Overalls, helmet and boots, drivers Briefing/Tuition
- Laps of the circuit in a road car to confirm the racing line
- 1 session in a Formula Challenge Single Seater racing car
- Debrief and PI data analysis
- Certificate Presentation with PI analysis and photo

Optional extras:
- Damage Indemnity Waiver NZD 100 including GST (Limits maximum damage liability to an agreed limit of NZD 300 per incident)

V8 RACE CAR EXPERIENCE

Drive a Holden or Ford V8 race car for 1 session on Taupo International race circuit. This is your chance to actually drive a V8 Race car. Your instructor will help you master the art of race driving while you experience the thrill usually reserved for seasoned professionals. No experience is required.

Be welcomed to our state of the art race facility and enjoy a complimentary coffee. After a brief introduction one of our nationally qualified instructors will run through the theory of racing then its out to the track where your race team will kit you up in race gear including race suit, gloves, boots and helmet. Strap into the cockpit and the race is on.

Learn about race lines braking points and acceleration techniques. Fly over the finish line and receive your presentation folder including certificate and A4 photo.

Race a Formula Challenge V8 Race Car on Taupo newly refurbished state of the art track, then climb into the cockpit of a single seater race car for some Formula style fun. Not one, but two driving adventures, combine for the ultimate day behind the wheel on the country's new premier race track.

This is a rare opportunity to actually race a V8 Car on a professional track. See the world through the eyes of a championship driver in a full-on session that includes pre-drive tuition, and 1 session behind the wheel of a Formula Challenge V8 race car.

Then it's time for some Formula style kicks as you discover the high speed thrills of single seater racing. Fly at speeds of up 160kph as you cover 1 session on the track. Discover the excellent power to weight ratio of single seater racing as you learn the secrets and theory of championship driving.
